Has anyone heard of of microstrand laser hair volumizing? I visited Salon Alfieri today in Ft. Lauderdale for a free consult. The owner, Chuck Alfieri, was helpful and did not push me into a decision. One of the treatments he mentioned was adding alot of 2-4 hair microextensions to the crown to provide volume for those with female pattern hair loss. Extensions to be changed every 3 months. These extensions are not supposed to harm hair.

Anyone have any experience with this? Cost (with color and shaping) is $850 for first meeting, then consider additional costs for maintenance.

Has anyone heard of the Ayurvedic system of rubbing your nails together to help prevent/stop hair loss?

I’ve been reading on a site about it and it seemed a bit far fetched and too easy so then I Googled it and found other sources that said it was true.

Apparently you place your hands together in a praying position then turn your nails in towards each other and rub the nails together in a sideways motion for about 7 mins twice a day – prefereably before eating. They say that it revs up blood circulation that lies beneath the nail bed that is relevant to your hair follicles. They say you would definitely see improvement in about a month and great improvement after 6 months.

Worth finding out about I say! If anyone can add to this I would be interested to hear what they have to say.

Hello, I don’t know if I’m in the right place…so please bear with me.
I was just wondering if anyone might have any advice or be going through this …
I’m 25, healthy for the most part and am not on ANY medications…nor have I ever been.
I have always had thinner hair..and have always shed quite a bit… normal I guess…but over the past 2 weeks…I’v noticed I’v been shedding ALOT… like..we’re talking a ton in the shower…and then when I brush my hair, a whole brushfull again. PLUS… when I wake up I can see a ton of hair on my pillow…. It’s a LOT compared to usual. Hoping that I was just being paranoid… I had gone for a haircut this past weekend. And I’m rather scared that even my hairdresser confirmed that yes..this is an abnormal amount of shedding..due to how much hair she was getting in the brush.

I’m embarrassed to talk to any of my friends about it…and don’t know if my Dr. will be able to help me?
Who do I see…how do I find out what’s causing this.
Has anyone else experienced extreme shedding that wasn’t due to medications or obvoius reasons? I’m going to make a Dr.s appointment for this week… but that doesn’t help me stress any less up to that point.

Sorry for the rant. Just scared… don’t know what’s going on…I’m scared to wash or brush my hair…my hair is thinner as it is…so yeah.
